This is an intensive 3-day retreat (Fri-Sun) for Writers. The retreat takes place at a rustic cabin located in the Central Cascade Mountains, 30 minutes away from the climbing mecca of Leavenworth WA.

You and up to five other literary artists/authors, will share and discuss personal current works-in-progress for analysis and feedback.

ABOUT The Cascade Mountain Retreat for Alpinist-Writers.
This retreat is designed for writers with current works in progress that relate to the alpine world, climbing narratives, and mountaineering literature and history.

The focus is on writing about the alpine world and mountain experiences, creating an opportunity to share works while also inviting critical analysis and inspiring one another to write, building community, and work towards goal setting.

SCHEDULE
Arrival:
Friday • November 14 at 2:00pm
Departure:
Sunday • November 17 at 3:00pm

Limited to five participants.
Cost: $100
Scholarships available

REQUIREMENTS:
• Laptop
• Sleeping bag, pillow
• Your own food for breakfasts, snacks & lunches. Dinners will be provided.
• Must be able to walk up twelve stairs and traverse uneven, sloped ground for up to one mile.
• Adhere to the workshop's schedule; refrain from inconveniencing other writers.
• You will also need to provide your own transportation to-&-from the retreat cabin. This is in a remote wilderness area with no access to public transportation.

ADDITIONAL
• Participants will share:
1. Kitchen facilities for preparing meals (dinners will be provided),
2. Sleeping areas (pads or cots will be provided).
3. Bathroom facilities

TO APPLY
1) Write a brief Statement why you would like to attend this intensive alpinist writer's workshop. Please keep it short. Please indicate if a scholarship would help you to attend.

2) Write a brief Summary (no more than 100 words) about the current work in progress you would like to focus on during the retreat, including the scope of work, how much remains for completion, and your goal date for completion, and how it relates to the mountain realm.
